The National Animal Interest Alliance, reports that only 4 percent of purebred dogs are found in shelters across this nation. 4% !!!   Why?  Because good breeders take back the dogs they produce if they need to be re-homed.  I don’t know for certain but i’m guessing of that 4% the majority of the breeders did not know their dog was going to end up in a shelter.
