When we awoke in Portugal on Saturday morning we headed towards the small town of Fundao.  Driving through the Estrela Mountains from our Pousada to the show was the perfect start to an “Estrela” day.  We  were headed to an Estrela Mountain Dog specialty show hosted by the Portuguese Dog Club.  With over 50 Estrela Mountain Dogs participating, ranging from puppies to mature adults, the show was awesome.  They are magnificent, intelligent, strong, and amiable dogs and we can proudly say that we own four of these beautiful creatures.

 

 

In May of 2012 we were able to attend this Estrela Specialty Show.  What a treat to see so many beautiful Estrela’s.  Thank you to our friends Fatima and Jose Almeida for inviting us.
