We are pleased to announce that Star Mountain Kennel is qualified to participate in the Bred with Heart program sponsored by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

To qualify we have to met requirements set by the AKC.   The requirements require we health test our dogs in accordance with our AKC National Breed Club (Portuguese Podengo Pequenos of America).  It also requires us to practice best breeding practices and continue our education in approved courses.  By participating we agree to inspections by the American Kennel Club, AKC.   We also accept responsibility for the health and well-being of the puppies we produce.  We agree to uphold the tradition  of the American Kennel Club and breeding purebred dogs.

We are really proud to participate in the outstanding program.  We take the health of all our dogs very seriously.
